Where the Name Comes From

Joe Pizzo's grandfather opened Genoa Pizza in Genoa, Illinois in 1975. When his brothers gave Joe the chance to carry the name to Sugar Grove, he knew exactly what to do.

Uncle Pete's Recipe

The sauce and dough come from a family recipe handed down from Joe's Uncle Pete — unchanged since day one. As Joe puts it: "It all starts with good quality product."

Earning Sugar Grove's Trust

Joe was a finishing carpenter before opening Genoa Pizza, and he built this business the same way — one customer at a time. Consistency did the talking.

The 28-Inch Monster Pizza

At some point, Joe started making 28-inch pizzas — and they became the thing people call ahead about for parties and gatherings. You won't find that size just anywhere around here.
